can weapon requirements be met w/ runes or helms? - Guild Wars Forums

I was wondering if the Requirement for weapons, ie a level 9 requirment in Swordsmanship, could be met with either a rune or a helm. Let's say I had 8 levels in swordsmanship and put on a captain's helm that gave +1 in Swordsmanship. Would I be able to use the sword or do I have to actually raise my attribute level to the required amount? Thanks for any help and advice.

I don't see why it shouldn't. You are raising your skill up one level with the helm and should act in every way if you leveled it with attribute points. Otherwise it'd be a waste if it did nothing ^_^

thanks for the help. though even if it didn't meet the requirement, you'd still get the benefit via skills

I can confirm that they do count. I have a Canthan Targe and it gives 30 life(I think) for rank 8 strength. I had rank 7 with no more attribute points. I then crafted a Wyvern helm that adds +1 to strength and the extra life kicked in.
